Emailing saves paper and trees. It also gives the practitioner some time to research your case. In Chinese medicine, each person is unique and contributes to the current conditions in varied ways. But if you forget or do not have a printer handy, just arrive 15 min early for your first time visit to avoid using your treatment time. There are extra copies in the clinic.
